Paul Harkin

Medical Council of Ireland

Paul Harkin is Director of Strategic Development at the UCD School of Medicine, University College Dublin, a role he has held for the past twenty years.  A business and science graduate, he has extensive leadership experience in academic and commercial R&D environments.

Mr Harkin was appointed by the Minister for Health to the Medical Council of Ireland (as a non-medical member) in 2018 and reappointed for a second three year term in 2023.  He has been a member of the Council’s Fitness to Practise Committee since 2018 and has been chair since 2021.
