Legal Practitioner Disciplinary Tribunal

Valerie qualified originally as a hotel manager with qualifications from Ireland and the United States.  She obtained an MBA from Trinity College and worked in a number of senior management roles before joining the Veterinary Council of Ireland as Registrar and CEO in 2005 as the Veterinary Practice Act 2005 was enacted.  The new Act significantly updated all aspects of regulating the veterinary profession including implementing a new fitness to practise regime.

Since retiring from this role in 2018 Valerie has served and continues to serve on the fitness to practise committees of the Medical Council, the Nursing and Midwifery Board, the Pharmaceutical Society and on the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal.  She is also a member of the Greyhound Racing Appeals Committee.
