Caroline Murphy

Solicitor and Accredited Mediator

Caroline Murphy is a solicitor and accredited mediator, with over 27 years professional experience advising a range of public and private sector bodies in the area of litigation, insurance, dispute resolution and regulation including professional regulation and mediation. 


Most recently, she spent almost 4 years leading the in-house Fitness to Practise and Legal Affairs function for the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland ("the PSI"), the statutory regulator of pharmacists and pharmacies, which included managing the mediation of complaints, with the PSI being one of the few professional regulators to have these statutory powers. 


Also a lay member of both the NMBI's Fitness to Practise Committee, which hears statutory complaints into nurses and midwives, and the Medical Council's Monitoring Committee, an advisory Committee which makes recommendations to the Council regarding conditions attached to the registration of doctors, she is an experienced legal practitioner, decision-maker, and regulator.
