Lorna Lynch SC

Lorna Lynch is a practising barrister with over twenty years’ experience. She received an LL.B from Trinity College Dublin and an LL.M. from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, before completing her Barrister-at-Law Degree at the Honourable Society of King’s Inns. Lorna was called to the Bar of Ireland in 2000 and was called to the Inner Bar in October 2022.


Lorna has a wide-ranging civil law practice specialising in employment and regulatory law. Lorna has been involved in all types of employment law cases on behalf of both employers and employees. As Junior Counsel, Lorna presented fitness to practice inquiries on behalf of a number of regulators including the Medical Council, Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland, Veterinary Council of Ireland and Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland. As a Senior Counsel, Lorna had continued to appear on behalf of Regulators and has also acted for a variety of regulated professional in fitness to practice and High Court proceedings. She acts as legal assessor for the Council of CORU, the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland and the Medical Council.


In light of her experience in the areas of employment and regulatory law, Lorna has been appointed by various employers, companies and state bodies to conduct investigations and disciplinary hearings. Lorna has conducted an extensive range of investigations including those involving complaints of bullying and harassment, protected disclosures, workplace grievances, financial irregularities and governance issues.
